This coffee comes from Thika District of the Gatanga Division of Kiambu County, and was produced by a Factory owned by Thikagiki Farmers Cooperative. This Factory managed by Julius Ndungu and established in 1965. Currently has 640 registered members.
The Cherries after harvested they went to wet mills. Thikagiki Farmers Society are the umbrella for several mills. The wet mills in Kenya called Karogoto Factory and about 1000 farmers delivering cherries to this mills. The Farmers got more than 85% of the sales price from the mills and also the cost is deducted.
The farmer hand sorted the cherries and then removed the skin and pulp with a three disc pulping machine. The coffee graded by density in to 3 grades and then grade 1 and 2 go to fementation, after fermentation the coffee washed and graded again in washing channels
