Frinsa Estate is a family business owned by Wildan Mustofa and his wife Atieq. Frinsa Estate has about 130 hectares of land planted with coffee, with 6 main growing plots spread out in the area. They also support and process coffees from surrounding smallholders.
While the majority of Indonesian coffee producers (even for specialty coffee) are doing the wet hulled, Wildan is focusing on the fully washed coffees that properly dried in parchment. This year we are having a wide range of coffees from Frinsa Estate, from classic clean washed to special prepared experimental lots.
Pak Wildan added a new experimental process invoving yeast (Saccharomyces) to their experimental series. Most of them are natural, but there are some washed and honey versions as well. The idea is basically to develop methods that can later be replicated at larger scale.
These coffees are pretty unique and different from traditional coffees. It may look ugly, but it tastes very unique and definitely something else. We are super excited to have their coffees again this year in our offerings! Always getting better each year.
